What the Xeon E-2276G is

The Xeon E-2276G pushes six cores with Hyper-Threading to high clocks within 80 W. It launched in May 2019 with a 3.8 GHz base and up to 4.9 GHz boost. Intel targets interactive CAD where base speed matters all day.

Twelve megabytes of Smart Cache keep parts and assemblies in fast storage near the cores. The high base sustains modeling without sagging under load. Twelve threads handle analysis solvers beside the design app.

UHD Graphics P630 from 350 MHz to 1.2 GHz drives office displays for documentation and review. The process is 14 nm and the multiplier is locked. ECC memory guards long simulations from single bit errors.

Socket and motherboard compatibility

The E-2276G fits LGA 1151 on revision 2 boards only. C246 boards combine ECC UDIMMs with display outputs for P630. Discrete GPUs can join for 3D work while integrated graphics cover side monitors.

Mid 2019 BIOS builds carry E-2200 IDs. Early boards may need an update. Revision 1 platforms never accept it. The Socket vs chipset: what decides whether a CPU works guide lists the compatible generations.

Single socket towers hold this SKU well. Dual socket scaling needs Xeon Scalable on larger sockets.

Memory, PCIe and cooling

DDR4-2666 ECC UDIMMs in two channels up to 128 GB fit design towers and small servers. Dual channel pairs feed both CPU and graphics. Choose 32 GB for large assemblies with many components.

Sixteen Gen3 CPU lanes suit a mid range workstation GPU or NVMe array. P630 covers 2D displays when the slot holds 3D or network cards. Chipset lanes handle the remaining storage and USB.

Cooling uses the 75 mm LGA 1151 pattern from the CPU cooler compatibility by socket guide. An 80 W tower with good contact holds 3.8 GHz under all core loads. Replace dried paste after years of warm office use.

Upgrade paths

On the same socket, the Intel Xeon E-2286G lifts the base to 4.0 GHz at 95 W for top single thread speed. The Intel Xeon E-2246G trims clocks to 3.6 GHz at the same 80 W for lower cost. Both share C242 and C246 boards.

Consumer i7-9700K offers eight cores without ECC for gaming towers. It lacks workstation management and correction.

Past LGA 1151 newer Xeon E parts need LGA 1200. The E-2276G covers fast interactive work where six cores with graphics and ECC must remain.
