Overview

The platform pairs 4 Willow Cove cores with Iris Xe graphics for thin laptops that need single-thread pace without gaming bulk. All H35 parts carry 4 cores with 8 threads, with cache at 8 MB on Core i5 and 12 MB on Core i7. Memory runs DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s or LPDDR4x up to 4267 MT/s in two channels to 64 GB.

Because the processor solders to the board there is no socket retention and no processor upgrade. Laptop makers design cooling around the 35 W base with headroom for 64 W turbo bursts. Against BGA 1787 for 6 and 8-core H45 gaming parts, BGA 1449 is the smaller thin-laptop option with Iris Xe graphics doing the visual work.

Who BGA 1449 serves

BGA 1449 processors belong in thin-and-light laptops for study, office work and creation where single-thread pace matters. The 35 W base with 64 W turbo headroom fits slim fans without the noise of gaming bodies.

Within the package the choice runs from the Core i5-11300H through refresh parts to the Core i7-11390H with 5.0 GHz boost. Graphics scale from 80 to 96 execution units, so buyers who meet over video or edit photos should weigh the Core i7 tier. The June refresh parts lift clocks slightly over the January launch SKUs at matching power.

Memory and PCIe

Memory support spans DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s and LPDDR4x up to 4267 MT/s across two channels to 64 GB. SODIMM boards allow later memory changes while soldered LPDDR designs trade that option for thinner bodies. Thunderbolt 4 through the board covers docks and external graphics where internal lanes stay few.

PCIe arrives as Gen4 x4 from the CPU for NVMe storage, with Thunderbolt 4 through the board for docks and external graphics. Laptop designs lean on Thunderbolt where internal lanes stay few.
